This novel, and series, gradually feels more boring and common YA. It's not terribly written, and yet I could find myself easily zoning out knowing I was missing no important information as I skimmed down paragraphs.
There are far too many road trip driving sequences, as well as injuries with unrealistic and unreliable pain/incapacitation levels.
I'm semi invested in the grand ending of this whole series.
