“White Fungus” turned out to be a not so amazing final fiction story in this collection. Now I just have a few nonfiction things.

I guess I'll say that I like the vocabulary of "Peace in Our Time" by Garth Nix.

"Goggles" is my first sample of Caitlin Kiernan's work, which I'll be reading more of in the near future.

"Smoke City" by Christopher Barzak might be relatable to some who, despite perhaps wanting to be parents, are not sure if it is safe at the moment to bring a child into the world yet.

"The Stoker Memorandum" by Lavie Tidhar actually grabbed my attention since I'm a fan of Dracula, Frankenstein, and Jekyll & Hyde. This was kinda confusing though because, while there are elements of the Dracula setting and a mention of Vlad the Impaler, which are sure to inspire the idea of Dracula, the story goes in this weird direction involving rockets. I did enjoy reading it, though.

I actually liked “The Seventh Expression of a Robot General.”

“Captain Bella and the Sovereign State of Discordia” was mildly interesting. Good name for an airship.

Got past “To Follow the Waves.” 300 pages into this and only a couple of stories are the standouts.

Got past “The Effluent Engine.” I don’t know what it is about these stories that doesn’t make them stand out to me.

It’s kinda funny that there’s a story called “Nowhere Fast,” which is ripe for people saying, “Well that went nowhere fast.” LOL It has nice stuff in it though.
