The story sounds interesting, but I'm already irritated by the over-use of "gender" and "gendered" which pops up every other sentence. I'm also irritated by the "we know nothing about this person but I'm not going to let that stop me from making up a story" style of the author. This may end up on the "stopped reading" shelf.
