Finally reading this!! Really enjoying it so far!! Especially the scene where Akeha tells their mom they want to be confirmed as a boy, the way the narration constantly switches between he and they pronouns, them thinking they have to tell her before they change their mind, reciting the pronouns in their head—it’s all so fucking good!!! My nonbinary darling!!! Just. A big gender mood.
