Man, I hate reading about the “civilizing power of the Bible” as it relates to 19th Century missionary efforts to the “3rd World.”

Confessed conservative author has a chapter titled “The Good That Wealth Can Do” which did not discuss how the wealthy Guinness family used their wealth, but how an idealistic employee convinced a large company to use its revenue to promote social reform among its workers—and this is touted as “deeply Christian.” But if we change the words “company” and “workers” to “State” and “citizens”...
