I leave this book up at the cabin in Maine and read 1-2 chapters every time I am there. Halfway through, It is mesmerizing and meditative, probably the best writing about the natural world I have ever encountered. One of those books that is stupefying, and that I’m equal parts frustrated and grateful that I didn’t know existed until I picked it up in a bookstore 1.5 years ago.
