Well then, I'll take your advice and read Redshirts first! I've been wanting to read the funnier side of Scalzi's Sf. Have you read any of his blog, The Whatever? Really showcases some of his biting, irreverent humor.

I have a book of his blog posts that's being published sometime this year (publisher sent me a copy), so I'll probably read it.
