While the Head of the Roblin Institute rejects the idea of examining the Shroud of Turin, others are more than willing to help, on the sly. After a secret meeting, the cardinals are sent back to get papal approval to go ahead, which they receive. Secreted away in a cathedral, the scientists work in Turin to reveal any remnants of Jesus, while the cardinals watch, astonished at what is discovered. More tests in Rome!

As plans heat up, the Vatican makes a surprise decision, though it is to be secret from the rest of the world. Dr. Ian McKinney and his assistant/love interest soon build their relationship stronger and the former finds his connection to all things Christian growing as well. They agree to undertake a major mission in America. Meanwhile, it would seem someone want to negate this Vatican project and death is an option!

With testing still underway, the two scientists are hopeful that there will be some progress. As the two cardinals look on, they, too, hope for the best, but know that there is no guarantee of success. With a clear understanding by the pope that nothing will be done to act as ‘more than a mortal’, everyone must steer clear of thinking too broadly. However, one man’s lacking faith will be tested and his beliefs found!

Two cardinals to Edinburgh with a mission. Arriving at a genetics firm, they seek to speak with the owners about some of the work, not least of which the cloning of a sheep. Worried that they will be chastised by Catholic officials, the scientist explains the process thoroughly, insisting that it was all above board. However, he is shocked when the cardinals ask to have Christ replicated from the Shroud of Turin!
