...creating a just state is ultimately more than simply a matter of distributing goods in a certain way but also a matter of securing each citizen's equal worth in that society such that it cannot be denied or threatened by those with political or economic power... unless such equal worth for all can be assured, all schemes of distributive justice will end up hurting rather than helping those who are being dominated.
