Let’s be real, how many start reading reviews at 1 star and skip the 5 star who aren’t GR buddies? (*raises-both-hands*)

I confess that I have passed the reviews with many stars and read the 1,2 and 3 stars because they seem more true to me.

100%!! Especially ARC reviews. I tend to read 3 star or lower reviews, unless like you said its a GR buddy.
100% yes. I find I get more info on whether or not I'll want to read a book from the 1 star reviews.
I go straight to the 1 star reviews and if there is still a possibility of reading it I go up to the 2/3 stars. Almost never trust 5/4 reviews, only if it is from a friend or someone I follow
I am so glad I’m not alone...I sometimes read those 5 star reviews and all I’m thinking is “oh, fuck off you, brainless twit.”
I read a mixture of all reviews 1 to 5 stars - I want to see differing viewpoints & find reviews that touch on points of interest for my preferences in reading selections.
