Kinda messed up that Detective Darrow and everyone found Brooke lying about being abducted a source of amusement, rather than taking it very seriously and being mad about it, what with other girls genuinely being abducted and murdered.
The book's not terrible, but not gonna lie--certain things are really putting me off it. Hopefully the rest makes up for it.

The amount of telling in this book is a bit of a turn-off. There are tons of areas where the reader is being told a character's tone of voice or motives for the things they say or do, as though the reader wouldn't be able to work it out for themselves. It's distracting.
