It seemed like a long unnecessary path down the aisle to me. Why couldn’t they be together in the first place? I don’t think it would have made his career easier or harder. But I’m glad it had a happy ending for both of them though.

Yes. That's the thing with Ayn. If she could write half of what she does, the story would still come across and it would sound less pedantic. In Atlas also she goes on and on.

It’s been a while since I read Atlas Shrugged and it’s way too long for me to reread it right now. The romance arc made more sense to me there though. Her books are good. I definitely understand why they’re still being printed and read 60 years later.
