I notice I've retained MUCH more of the American information than the Scottish and Irish side. It's humbling how my familiarity with one shows how ignorant I am in the other. Sometime I'll have to return to the beginning of this book to go through the European side again. It is information that would be useful to know, given as this IS all interconnected (and knowing more of all cultures is always beneficial).

Some really fun information about Shady Grove in the section I just read. I'd had some questions about this favorite ballad of mine. I think the new information has instilled just as many questions as I got answers. Will have to have fun a dive into more info later.

I admit that now that I'm on the American side of things, I'm more invested in the material and information of this book.

The historic information is difficult for me to retain but my mind retains the emotional and musical essences of the migration from Scotland to Ulster, and now finally to the shores of America.

One song that has been quoted several times in length is The Shamrock Shore. I shall have to delve more into this song in particular and see what recordings I can find of it.
