The letters Charlotte wrote after Emily and Anne died are just heartbreaking. I can feel how she’s changed. How she aged ten years in a few months.

Getting to know a lot about Charlotte Brontë. For one thing: she was not impressed by Jane Austen. For another: she was not a great reader of fiction, if her letters are a reliable source.

Getting curious to Charlottes first novel ‘The Professor’. The letters she wrote to Constantin Héger seem quite out of character for her.

I’m skipping Branwell Brontës letters. I don’t really understand why the author of this book included them and not the letters by Anne and Emily. They are talked about, but not included. Branwell is such a drag.

What an arrogant twat, that Branwell Brontë.

This is a real ‘I pick it up now and then’ kind of book. I borrowed it from the library. After seeing the movie ‘To Walk Invisible’ my love for the Brontës grew even more.
