I find myself comparing and contrasting this with another book I recently read called, "The Nightingale". While I appreciated war from a women's point of view one of the character's was excruciatingly unbelievable in her responses to the world around her. Which is why so far I have found this very refreshing in its treatment of its characters..... none have been terribly unbelievable so far.
