The heroine is naive enough so why did the author feel the need to point out that she could have ran out of the front door instead of stupidly running upstairs...its like the author has never seen a horror movie

I hate it when I enjoy an author's writing style (as in it's easy to read) but the content feels outdated and stupid in 2020
