There are some inconsistencies: for example, Anyan is supposedly very strong, yet it took Conleth to save Jane.

Also, there are too many popular references, which age real fast. So not all references make sense in 2020, even with the help of Google.

I thought the love triangle would get tedious. But it's actually quite interesting.

I preferred Jane in book 1, when she wasn't trying to prove what a "badass" she is all the time. She read as more authentic back then.

Conleth killed his abusers. Then the guilty Alfar running his prison/lab killed the others to cover their tracks...? Conlith is running away from the corrupt among the Alfar...?

Back on page 53, I got the feeling that Camille knows more than she's letting on. (She's the mother of a halfling, so that would make sense.)

Were the Alfar funding Conleth's facility...? As a way to solve the Supe's fertility issues...?
