Interesting history of architecture. Colquhoun's passion for the subject really shines through, even if he comes off a little flowery with his language. He teases out the social, historical and philosophical influences of each figure. It is difficult to retain a lot of the names, dates and places, but that's probably an issue with my awful comprehension, which certainly isn't helped by my noisy neighbours ...
