Starting one of my only ever re-reads as part of my 2026 challenge. Just finished the prologue, which, for some reason, I skipped when I first read this book a decade ago (I read it after I was done, but not a clue why). It is definitely an unsettling start. Long road ahead for this one!

I'm shocked at gow effective this story is as I'm absolutely terrified while reading. Better than any horror movie, no doubt about that.
