I like the book so far since I'm interested in Japan's feudal era. However, some parts in the book are very confused with disorderly sentences, making them difficult to understand.
For example: "...with the flimsiest evidence, he (Nobunaga) commanded his closest ally to order a ritual suicide on his son". Without stating the ally's name, I didn't know whose son was the author trying to mention.

Page 135 it says "Shingen had recently fought the fourth and final Battle of Kawanakajima with his great enemy Uesugi Kenshin". I tend to google these battles in order to get a glimpse of some details, and since I'm a bit of a visual learner, I need to see maps and photos of these characters. And google says there were a total of 5 battles, not 4.

Using non-linear storytelling so far, quite confusing and abstruse

The beginning part tries to cover all the important people and groups that contribute to the modern Japanese.
