I’m not quite done w this book, but I am glad I am reading it despite the middling reviews. Yes, it’s niche, and yes, it’s repetitive to an extent (which I think is a good thing when a book is discussing research). Ghaziani does a good job of picking apart the circular arguments around gayborhoods, and by focusing solely on Chicago’s Boystown, he is able to dig deep into the dynamics of gayborhoods.
