Maybe.... hopefully... it’s like... a warning tale about how the images society fed her forces her into martyrdom. I’m also at a disadvantage because I don’t know the original story and I honestly kinda wanna stop until I do.

Another example of too much foreshadowing. I also feel like this book is a set up on how her... freer firey will causes more pain than if she’d just listened to all the warnings which is a bullshit message to try to give girls. I’m hoping I’m wrong. I don’t think I am.

I see what people meant about too much foreshadowing, I’m irritated. Also—I’m really curious about what the set up is for. “I should have believed her and modified my expectations”.

It feels very refreshing, the playfulness in it is found in the structure but also from the POV of our our darling main character. Tons of foreshadowing dropped, I’m v curious about how things will proceed after the the end of chapter 3!
