Tatiana What are you learning from this book? I bought a copy, I should read it so we can discuss it.

Esther It's dry as a bone, but absolutely worthwile to read. I can imagine this book being accompanied by lectures for history students. It's a very complete work and goes in-depth on a wide range of topics like the way the church was organised nationally and locally, what 'enclosures' meant during that time, the development and innovations of the law system, the way diplomacy was handled, etc etc etc. I learned so much. It's a painfully dry read sometimes, but I soldier through it because it's such essential stuff. The part about the monarchs is well written and more fast-paced. I especially enjoyed the part on Henry VII and the analysis on how he managed to survive the diplomacy wilderness at the time and was able to take great advantage from how he mastered it. I think it you will like this book.
