DNF - I might pick it up at a later date but right now I can't seem to get hooked :(

Firstly, when I began this book I had no idea where it was set or what genre it was because of it. Shocked to learn it's a fantasy, the way it's written seems like it might be better in a Sci-fi genre.
Secondly, I really dislike the POV. It goes from first to third and just confuses everything. Also present tense, I really am not a fan :(
