I'm not going to finish this. The writing's so stilted & the characters so awkward & un-Austen like, I don't see the point in continuing. I found it utterly irritating to read.

I’ve read James w/the morose, long-faced Dalgliesh. While initially amused by the device to use Austen's own phrases, it quickly became tedious, repetititive & smacks of "look at me" writing. I was very unhappy with the conversation between Lizzie & Col Fitzwilliam-it struck me as very un-Elizabeth-like. I can only hope it is only to move the plot along. So far admiring the attempt, but not thrilled with the results.
