So already noticing some sweeping statements with zero proof, bibliography or footnotes. I find this concerning. And I actually happen to agree with some of the statements; but the fact that Diamond makes NO attempt to back them up is sloppy scholarship and insulting at best. I would expect more from a Pulitzer Prize Winner. Now proceeding with caution.

Diamond keeps giving me the what instead of the why. He seems to think that only farmer societies used animals/livestock for food/milk production. What about the Huns or desert tribes who used mares milk & camels milk? Nomadic societies have a rich culture (!) for using these types of animals for butters, yogurts, and fermented products while still holding to a hunter-gatherer lifestyle? Still unconvinced.
