Feels like there’s too many diversions that go nowhere. Maybe it’ll all add up in the end, but taking this many pages to do makes me wonder if its worth it. The whole “fear/angerspren” things were cool at first, but now it just feels like a lazy, repetitive way to tell readers what emotion characters are feeling. This is the first book I’ve read by a man in a long time and it’s hard not to feel like it shows.
