Aha! The familiar Scottish voice that the hooded Leah heard belonged to Granville’s thwarted stable master.

I’m surprised Mackenzie didn’t pick up where the other lackeys left off & had a go himself at groping Leah. I guess he told the other guys to wait until Pratchett got what he wanted from Avery first?

I wonder if this installment will address some of the criticism I read on Goodreads about its predecessor - i.e., how Micah will adjust to being thrust in the modern world w/no birth certificate or social security number. Such pragmatists these readers are.

Especially now that - as Leah mentioned - he & Jamie are getting married. How did they apply for a license w/out proof of his identity? 🤔😁
