"Machiavelli stress that it's better as a leader to be feared than to be loved." I can name some politicians who rule by this idea. You all know who I'm talking about.

Hobbes and Rousseau seem to be saying the opposite about "giving up dangerous freedoms for safety" and "noble savages" Hobbes in saying our natural state is the worst and we need civilization and rules to behave well, Rousseau the opposite.

And the Descartes part reminds me of the movie Inception.

What Hobbes called 'a state of nature' reminds me of The Hunger Games. And Hobbes is just like Head Gamemaker Dr. Volumnia Gaul. (And for sure President Snow had read The Prince)

" (Anselm) With his Ontological Argument he claimed to show that, as a matter of logic, the fact that we have an idea of God proves that God actually exists." Literally what Plato had said.

In a book I've read, there was a very interesting idea about The Original Sin and betraying God. The argument was that the sin (and the root of all evil in the world) wasn't the fact that they didn't obey God, it was one simple thing: curiosity.

It's very obvious that Pyrrho went to India, he speaks and acts just like a Buddhist.

It's like I'm reading a YouTube video of someone who has read about philosophy and now telling us about it. Sentences are very short and simple, but to me in a bad way, like it was written for a 7 year-old.
When he wrote "A Little History" he meant VERY little. No mention of Democritus, nature philosophers, not even the book "The Apology of Socrates" Nothing about ethics, dualism, how they viewed souls.
