Reading this again for the first time in 17 years, and I'm not afraid to admit I'm enjoying it. It's kind of juvenile in tone, but the narrator is a 12-year-old girl, so that makes it incredibly believable. It's refreshing to read something from the 70's, before everyone was publishing "witty" pop culture laced hipster bullshit.

I’ve read this so many times I’ve lost count, but the first time I was 9 years old, and the last time was back when I was still married… maybe a decade ago? It’s always interesting to return to it.
