while i was reading this in my parked car this morning, a woman who couldn't have been much older than me (35) stopped by my window and said, "i LOVE it, you just do NOT see enough people reading these days!" which seemed weird for her age, but also scared the CRAP out of me

this reminds me so much of aaron krach's half-life, complete with the transient omniscient third-person narration except with a late-20s lead. it's such an... outdated? i think? voice -- crotchety white guy nears thirty, has a crisis -- and we don't need anymore of it certainly, but it's a weirdly fun one to revisit.
