Took me a while to get through the last chapter on monoids as it was rather long and not really my bag, but was interesting nonetheless. The last example was interesting in that I worked on a similar problem some years ago and had wanted to follow a similar approach as presented.

Monoids… I’ve never been a huge fan of maths for its own sake, but this is interesting reading, in a similar vein to the closure of operations stuff covered in the blue DDD book.

This last chapter was Domain Modeling with Algebraic Data Types —Scott Wlaschin. It’s a good read and introduces some basic functional programming concepts and how they can be used in domain modeling. Wlaschin’s whole book is on my reading list for one day already…
