I'm struggling with this book, and not just because I've reached a deeply upsetting part. The first-person narration feels off, as does the heavy use of tropes (ie. being wrongly sent to the asylum, etc.) - together, these detract a lot from an otherwise imaginative premise. Ugh, I don't know whether I should continue.
