The third quarter is very focused on limited atonement. Rutherford argues well, and he does theology in a personal and worshipful way. His case for limited atonement is forceful; he wrestles Arminianism to the ground by exposing the ways that it ultimately ruins any high or hopeful estimation of the character of God. Now if only the man had an editor.

I read the introduction today. Terribly long and unreadable sentences dripping with adoration for the magnificent glory of the person and work of Christ. How can you not love Rutherford? I would be content to spend the rest of my life trying to make head and tail of him.
