I feel like beginning this requires a caveat. It is 690 pages long in the Penguin edition, with tiny, bitty print and over 100 additional pages of footnotes (and sometimes I like reading footnotes). In other words, I am going to be picking and grazing at this for months, I think, while also reading other stuff. But I am intrigued.
