In’s Reviews > The Writerly Life > Status Update

For someone who might have read his work, this book better understanding of the author through his personal accounts. These accounts may expand upon the psyche of the author when he wrote his works. It is mainly for those who want to know more about the author rather than his standalone works. For that reason alone, I believe my reaction to this is fairly lukewarm.

I am divided regarding this book. It contains, of the part which I have read till now, a lot of essays and travel diary of RK Narayan.

To get any enjoyment or knowledge from this book heavily depends on how much you have read the works of RK Narayan. Sadly to say, I have not had any experience with his works and so I am not that affectionate towards his personal life.
