I'm almost done & am negotiating myself to 'might-as-well-finish-it'. I dont know why I am more forgiving with historical romances, but in contemporary settings: the notion that everything will work out swimmingly if you just beautifully exist, dont grow as a person or overcome your insecurities; then you will magically be in a loving relationship & freed of your gangster family = pet peeves! It doesnt feel earned.

Basic storyline with loads of sexual tension between the protagonists = bit of same same as the other romance novels I obviously dont mind reading. They're a nice wind down from an analytically heavy day. It must be extra stress in my life right now because none of my reading choices are making me happy?
