read the first book in the series, it was good, violent though and graphic. The main character is definitely flawed (not sure I like my police to be less than 100% honest and law abiding). I had no idea who the villain was until the author decided to let me in on the secret, and it was certainly written well enough to make me want to keep reading. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
