I admit I wasn't expecting subterranean railroad dreams, but enjoyed them nonetheless. Bring on the Underground Postal System!

And we have WHIPPED through a history of terrorist attacks on the Tube, spanning 1887 - 2005, in a matter of moments. It is a little disconcerting. Also, there appear to be many more IRA attacks focused on the Tube than were listed in the book I just read about IRA terrorism, so today's just going to be full of surprises, I can tell.

I am puzzled by this author's choice to defend a dude who, in 1887, shot at a woman because she refused to marry him. "Perhaps he also intended to shoot Mary." Really? You mean like -- work with me, author -- when he actually shot at Mary? He's not a "tragic case", author. He's a dickhead.

Okay. We are now up to the bit where it turns out there was, by 1907, a huge network of underground greengrocers, and I have roughly a billion questions, none of which involve where any of London's engineers went to school, author.
