This is a great example of a well-written Church history book. A real page-turner! The only thing I would change is the title. Could be re-titled: "The Forgotten Evangelical Episcopalians: Low-Church Anglicanism 1870-1980." Or something.

How many stars would you give it?

I thought I'd rated this a long time ago, but I looked and it turns out I haven't. I've got to correct that omission since I've read this, but I want to go back and read it again. I'd definitely give it a solid 4 stars at least, mostly because it's engagingly written solid scholarship, and I've been exposed to a lot of terribly dry Church history. Worthwhile for sure.

Thanks for the feedback Daniel. By the way, I've noticed when looking at certain books here on goodreads, I can see that you have read the book but have not given it a rating. I would love to see what you would rate many of the books you have read. It would be a great help for a fairly new avid reader like myself to choose his books wisely.

I can certainly understand your desire for more time brother. On another note, my transitional Deacon ordination date has been set for September 29th at Church of the Apostles in Columbia, SC. I will be the newly consecrated PEARUSA Bishop, David Bryan's first ordination.
