I could have benefitted from reading this book back when I was a sophomore in undergrad and really learning about the world's religions for the first time. I was resistant and defensive... This book makes an important point that among different schools of thought and practice surrounding meditation, many religions and spiritual philosophies are in fact similar.

Had this book on the shelf - I think I have the first edition published in 1971. I've personally been averse to the practice of meditation but recognize the need for it in my own life.
