The first eight chapters were unbearably slow and I would have given up, but then Harper found the Dragonheart and was transported into the “real” story. I have no great love for any of the characters yet, and the “person of great power but doesn’t know it” trope is overdone in the fantasy genre. I’ll keep reading but I hope to connect with at least one of these characters soon.
