I have a second grader in virtual school now, so I get to see all the math they do. The teachers do a great job trying to get the kids to visualize and conceptualize numbers, addition, and subtraction. They use blocks, number lines, charts, etc.But they don't actually do enough problems to remember easily that 4+3=7. I remember doing tons of worksheets with addition at school. I think my kid needs that rote element.
