Issue #2 - We did get to see a little of what the Guardians of Oa were doing! Mostly this ish was just a blood bath with more Green Lanterns dying. Sure, the enemies suffered too but (spoilers) they were already dead.
Also this is the first appearance of Nekron! He's not shown doing much yet but I know he becomes a major player almost 30 years later in the Blackest Night event!

There are short stories after the main issues, focusing on different members of the Green Lantern Corps. Which I did not read.
I might have read them if I was actually reading this collected ed. in the right order but I’m not so interested right now.

Issue #3 - The conclusion! What I found really funny was that Hal, at the beginning of this issue, basically called the rest of the GLs cowards before they proved him wrong. Then at the end, he was all ‘humble’ and said ‘I’m just like the rest of them’.
I felt the story was a little rushed. Sure, there was a slight inspirational moment but overall, it wasn’t a hugely gratifying ending.

Issue #1 - A basic recap of the Guardians history. Plus the Battery of Oa explodes! Not sure how the Green Lantern rings still work but that’s fine.
Among a number of GLs, Arisia was introduced. I am not excited for her story line with Hal. Especially since he literally calls her ‘little sister’!
Anyway, I hope we see a little more of the Guardians mission, not just the Green Lanterns facing the villain, Krona.
