the relationships. with 'beula. with angelica. WITH MALACHI. i love emoni and dont understand how her mothering is so good at age 17. her ambition is what drives this entire story and you cant help but be proud of what she has accomplished, even if takes her a while and several mishaps for it to happen. also. ive never higlighted this many lines in a novel before. i think i really like acevedo's writing.
