Calling philosophy written between 500 and 200 BC modern is definitely a hot take. I can get behind the argument that it is a post-feudal philosophy, thus criticizing the idea of axial age philosophy but I still think it is a stretch to compare it to modern western philosophy

I understand the argument made that 'if we equally love all then it is meaningless' and 'that we cannot love everyone equally in a situation of choice we will set priorities' even if I personally disagree with it.
But making this argument for natural hierarchies and then claiming to be feminist on two pages which mostly talk about Socrates is weak and more confusing than adding to the case.
