Bailed out of this one. It is pure crap. Zero stars. I've been reading Lawrence Block for years, especially the Keller and Matt Scudder series. This collection is shockingly bad, and an obvious moneymaker hoping to use Block's early amateur writing to cash in on the pulp craze with its lurid cover and period look. But it is misogynistic, self-indulgent, prurient and silly. Don't waste your time.
