Theyre basically just going on a trist in the woods for most of the book and the stakes are really low. The first and second book had both the stakes of being the pack alphas but also of villains. Here its just a quest where they boink along the way in the woods and pick up a straggler. They try to make it seem like the neighbors are an issue but the book doesn't succeed in making me feel their threat.
