Your comment is another one I missed because it got automatically placed in an email folder. Sigh.

I loved both Jesus Through the Centuries: His Place in the History of Culture and Mary Through the Centuries: Her Place in the History of Culture. This series is amazing but makes for incredibly dense reading. I must say that I enjoyed the first two volumes most because I'm interested in early church history.

That's hard to say, Ian, as we are both used to reading theology. But they are definitely on a higher level academically than the books about Jesus and Mary.
