As I rise, Sweetheart, I carry you along with me, a heady, dizzying spin toward the sweet oceans of eternity. On wings of flames we sink into the sea of love. May we burn forever like bees in honey. Who does not wish for that delirium to last forever?

You fill a house with precious things; they break. You fill a heart with precious things; it breaks. In the end it all breaks.

Wonderful to see you are reading Ducornet, dear Ilse. I have been eyeing her for a whole already. Let’s see what you say.

She had been on my mind to read for a few years as well, dear Katia - browsing my bookshelf with unread books and looking for a particular one I couldn't find (we are in the middle of refurbishing the house) she told me her time had come : -). So far I find the language soaringly beautiful...the protagonist on the other hand is so despicable and narcissistic his deeds and thoughts form a fascinating contrast with both Ducornet's stellar prose and his aesthetic surroundings and his artistic wife. Hard to put down : -)! Which one(s) of her do you have in mind to read?
